Hornberg Research was founded in May 2013 by the electronic engineer, Martin Raschke and the film composer Mick Baumeister. As “MIDI pioneers from the very start” they joined together, combining many years of professional experience and their visions. They have taken on the task of developing a premium quality controller which brings ease and precision into musical performances. Substantial support was provided by Edwin Lorenz (metalorenz) in the development of the hb1 MIDI Breath Station. He provided us with his expert advise and his brilliant ideas were the cornerstones in the design of the metal and wooden pieces. The hb1 MIDI Breath Station would not be so highly developed without his expertise. The casing and the mouth piece are completely produced by metalorenz.
